La Mariposa – Sunday Matinee Milonga is part of the long-running legacy of A Little Buenos Tango in Sydney, a dance school grounded in authentic Argentine tango traditions.
Founded by Mimi & Teddy, accredited by the Escuela de Tango, in Buenos Aires, they have for many years, fostered a welcoming and inclusive tango community. These traditional milongas are known for their friendly atmosphere, where students, guests, visitors, and tangueros ‘lovers of tango’ come together to dance, connect, and enjoy each other’s company.
Held weekly at The Freeway Hotel, our Matinee Milonga offers a beautiful and comfortable setting with warm lighting, a polished timber dance floor, relaxed seating, bar and restaurant service, air-conditioning, and free undercover parking.
DJ Teddy curates a rich and thoughtful selection of tango music to keep the floor alive all afternoon.
Everyone is welcome, whether you’re a regular dancer or simply curious to experience the joy of a traditional Sunday milonga.
