My Favourite
Tango Lyric

Una Emocion
(English Translation)

Come and look what I bring in this blend of music and words,
it’s the song that inspired the longing that I felt last night.
It’s the voice of tango modulated in every corner by one who lives under the spell of an emotion...
I want to sing for this tune that is ever so sweet and captivating.

Surrounded by the illusion, I listened to it last night, the emotion compounded by things of yesterday,
the house where I was born, the grate and the vine arbour, the old merry go around and the rose bush.
Its accent is the song of sentimental voice,
its rhythm is the beat that lives in my city,
it does not have pretension,
it does not want to be indecent, it’s name is tango...

Tango and nothing else.

NOCHE DE LOS MILONGUEROS

In the 1940's and 50's during tango's height of popularity, Buenos Aires social life consisted of dancers known as the milongueros and milongueras. These are the self-taught dancers of Buenos Aires whose lifestyle consisted of the night and the tango. They learned to dance by expressing themselves through the music, and from this each and every milonguero developed his own unique style and charisma. The milongueras were the ladies who learned the tango by dancing with the milongueros in the clubs of Buenos Aires. Their ability to improvise allowed them to dance well with any man.
