August 2007

Hello Everyone,

Our 7th Anniversary Celebration in July at The Russian Club was another night to remember, bringing together the sweet memories of the past and the excitement of the future.

We see the future to be bright as long as there's a constant flow of passionate musicians and artists in the younger generations. It is with much pleasure that we were able to introduce the young talent from ‘Contango’ to play live for our tango dancers on the night. As for the future milonga, we will continue to bring joy to the dance floor!

Post cards from Buenos Aires

David Gywn,
in Buenos Aires:

"I am coming to the belief that it is possible to look at the way tango is taught in two ways, those who teach one to fly a plain, you move this foot or that, controlling your body and you make the plain fly in whatever direction you wish.

And those whose minds cannot conceive of tango as a plane but see it as a bird moving freely in its environment sensing all of its surroundings and responding accordingly."

Zulma & Robero:

"It’s snowing  in Buenos Aires"

Good Bye to a Milonguero - Pupi Castelloe

By Maria Teresa Buenos Aires

Pupi Castello passed away surrounded by family and friends at 8:30 AM Saturday morning Buenos Aires time.

Another giant of the Argentine tango has left us, and we mourn, we grieve but also rejoice celebrating the life of a man who gave lustre and class to the word 'milonguero'

Pupi's prime disciple, partner and friend Graciela Gonzalez was at his bedside hours after she returned to Buenos Aires.

After a long night, Ernesto Norberto Castello, known by all as Pupi slipped into an eternal rest.
