Mi Amigos,

Congratulations to everyone who participated in the 2005 Australian Tango Championships. The spirit of taking part in this event is more than winning itself. These experiences are priceless. Taking a chance and giving it a go has made you all winners.

MILONGA PARA GAVITO - Lyrics by Carlos D Gonzalez

This song was written by Carlos D Gonzalez for Gavito prior to his passing.

compartiendy piel a piel,
beso a beso, paso a paso.

Cuentan que al bailar la noche se le hace larga
y su corazon hace el amor con el alba.
Dicen que con el bailan las diosas del tango,
es cada paso un pincel y cada abrazo un milgro.

Did you recognise some of the faces on the cake?

See our Newscorner for the CAKE PHOTO COLLAGE

Our July Celebration was a hit! It was full of happy faces and more feet than you can count on and off the dance floor......

It's the little things that add up to make something great. Thank you for creating a magnetic atmosphere... and a powerful energy that lifted the spirit of the Milonga!

AWARD FOR TANGO CONTRIBUTION

It was a great honour to receive a 'DISCO DE PLATA CARLOS GARDEL' Award in July. Sincere thanks to Pedro Columbi (Argentine Consul), Zuli (Buenos Aires Tango Academy Sydney) and Rudolf Rivarola (President of Tango Gardelian Association). Thank you for having faith and confidence in us. We will continue our work and contribute to the growth of the Tango Community.
FIRST STEPS OF PASSION

Reporter Jason Avedissian from the Manly Daily joined our Manly class for his first taste of Tango. He writes about his experience in an article entitled 'Last tango in Parish' (16th July 2005 p36&37).

Mimi slides over and I place my right arm around her waist and gently hold her right hand up. "The man always leads" she says. Good grief.

Right foot back, left foot back, right foot outside her left, and so on. "Good, good, Jason" Mimi says. I'm not sure if she's serious or just inflating my sagging confidence.

I carry on, scared my size 12 leather shoes will crush her elegant, strapless heels. "Don't worry about that, no-one has ever stepped on me" Mimi says.

Classes EVERY TUESDAY Night

Learning to dance Tango is FUN!
Some of our new beginners shared their first impressions of tango...
"It makes me feel sexy" "I like the improvisation" "I like not knowing what comes next... it's exciting!"

'A Little Buenos Aires' runs classes at four locations around Sydney (Sydney CBD, Crows Nest, Manly and North Ryde). We also run a special session every Wednesday (8pm - 10.30pm) at "Q" Bar for the purpose of practicing "improvisation" skills on the dance floor.
