A chocolate indulging holiday is coming up! As the Easter long weekend approaches so is the big event for Tango dancers around Australia.

Count down to the Australian Tango Championship taking place at the Sydney Opera House on Sunday 8th April. Witness this exciting event where our next National Champions will be selected from a group of talented finalists. These winners will go on to represent Australia at the 2007 World Tango Championship in Buenos Aires.

ABOUT THE COMPETITION AND TANGO CHAMPIONSHIP 2007

The competition is run by Australian Tango Championship Limited, a non profit organisation. It is supported by various Australian business and government sponsors.

This Annual cultural event aims to keep our Tango scene
growing and creates the opportunity to fine-tune our knowledge through the guidance of the Buenos Aires visiting Maestros.

The Salon Tango (couple improvises through music)

The Stage Tango (choreographed Tango)

THE JUDGES:

Fabio Robles (Australian 2005/2006 Stage Champion)

THE WINNERS PRIZES:

Return airfares between Sydney and Buenos Aires, accommodation in Buenos Aires for the duration of their participation in the semi-finals of the World Tango Championship.

A NIGHT IN BUENOS AIRES - TANGO SHOW

During the Australian Championship Finals, an exciting Tango show 'A night in Buenos Aires' will be presented to you by the artists from Buenos Aires Gaspar Godoy and Gisela Galeassi,  Sergio Cortazzo and Soledad Rivero.  Fabio Robles and Ana Andre(Australia). Accompanied by the Quarteto de Tango musicians direct from Buenos Aires, Daniel Ruggiero (Bandoneon), Juan Bringas (Violin), Marco Rufo (Contrabass), Matias Lopez Gallese (Piano).

For those of you who love Tango Music, you can catch Jan Carol presenting tango music on Northern Beaches Radio every Friday from 4pm - 6pm on 88.7FM or 90.3FM!

Buenos Aires Teachers Workshop

Sergio Cortazzo and Soledad Rivero (Buenos Aires judges), and Gisela Galeassi and Gaspar Godoy (previous World Champions), will be presenting workshops in Sydney on the Easter weekend – Thursday 5th April to Saturday 7th April and Monday 9th April.

Workshops will be held at Abraham Mott Hall, The Rocks. Places are limited.

EASTER SUNDAY 8th April 2007 is the night of the of the Australian Tango Championship Finals. Due to this event, there will be NO CLASS or NUEVO TANGO JUNCTION on Easter Sunday We will be back on Sunday 15th April 2007 as usual (6pm Beginners class. 7pm - 10.30pm Social). 

EASTER MONDAY - YOU ARE INVITED FOR DRINKS:
Our annual Easter drinks will be held on EASTER MONDAY 9th April 2007 (No Class) 7.30pm, Marsfield Studio (St. Anthony's Hall, Cnr Agincourt & Balaclava Roads). Tango Documentary, music and dancing. Bring a plate of food and we'll provide the drinks.
